Products and services catalog

The annually updated catalog contains products and services on laser applications and safety. It includes national standards, reference guides, videotapes, hazard evaluator software, warning signs and labels, safety courses, conferences, and on-site laser training. This year`s catalog features the revised ansi Z136.2 standard, a new course entitled "Industrial Laser Safety," and proceedings from the icaleo `97 conference. The revised standard "For the Safe Use of Optical Fiber Communications" addresses issues in ofcs, such as the drastic increase in the number of these systems, the increase in power pumped through them, and the relaxation of maximum permissible exposures for the infrared. icaleo proceedings include over 120 technical papers and presentations given at the lia`s annual congress Nov. 1997 in San Diego. Designed for those working with lasers in manufacturing, the one-day course "Industrial Laser Safety" will address beam and nonbeam hazards and safety concerns associated with laser cutting, drilling, welding, and heat treating.
