To demonstrate its commitment to provide networking solutions for schools, Asanté Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ASNT.OB) will launch its new $10,000 "Network 2 Win" (N2W) education grant at the National Education Computing Conference (NECC) tradeshow in Chicago next week. The program will allow a K-12 school to implement or upgrade networking equipment with Asanté's products.
Schools could use the Asanté "Network 2 Win" education grant to install a wireless network, upgrade their backbone to Gigabit Ethernet and upgrade classrooms or libraries with Fast Ethernet switches. In addition to the grant dollars, the winner will receive a free onsite consultation with an Asanté networking expert.
In booth #592 at NECC, Asanté will also highlight its Gigabit Ethernet switches. The new IntraCore 65120-12G 12-port all GBIC switch offers network managers a very flexible way to distribute Gigabit Ethernet over a variety of media. The IntraCore 8000 is a 24-port 10/100 stackable switch with 3 switch expansion slots, 1 stacking slot, and 1 MII slot. The IntraCore 6524 is a 24-port 10/100 stackable switch with 2 GBIC Gigabit Ethernet expansion module ports.
In addition, Asanté will display its award-winning cable/DSL router: the FriendlyNET FR3004LC. The router has a 4-port 10/100 switch, back-up modem port, and network print server for parallel port printers.
