Tabula, MorethanIP, NetLogic Microsystems collaborate on sub-$500 programmable 100GbE chip combo
Tabula, MorethanIP, and NetLogic Microsystems [NASDAQ: NETL] have combined to offer what they assert is the first programmable 100-Gigabit Ethernet (100GbE) chipset that can be produced for less than $500.
The chipset, available from Tabula, combines Tabula’s I-100 ABAX 3PLD 100GbE-to-Interlaken bridging device leveraging MorethanIP’s Interlaken and 100GbE MAC and PCS IP cores with NetLogic Microsystems’ NLP15142-T 100GbE PHY devices. The offering targets high-speed networking and storage equipment designs.
Tabula’s I-100 device embedding MorethanIP’s IP cores will be available in Q3 2011. The complete chipset, which will comprise Tabula’s I-100 device and three NetLogic Microsystems NLP15142-T PHY devices, will be priced below $500 in unit quantities of 10,000.
