Arden Photonics says its new VFI-1200 interferometric inspection system is specifically designed for checking the end-face quality and flatness of cleaved, polished, or lensed fibers with diameters of 125 µm to 1200 µm.

Arden Photonics says its new VFI-1200 interferometric inspection system is specifically designed for checking the end-face quality and flatness of cleaved, polished, or lensed fibers with diameters of 125 µm to 1200 µm.

Thanks to a 5M pixel camera with a x6 digital zoom, the VFI-1200 displays crisp end-face images; high contrast fringe patterns make it easy to estimate end angles, Arden asserts.

The VFI-1200’s software package enables users to grab, save, and print images for recording QA data and produce reports. Other software features include:

  • intensity line profile
  • intensity histogram
  • auto-optimization of intensity
  • end angle estimation
  • pseudo-color rendering
  • review stored images.
