OE Solutions unveils industrial temperature CWDM/DWDM XFP transceivers for metro WDM

OE Solutions Co, Ltd. has introduced industrial temperature grade XFP optical transceivers for CWDM and DWDM applications requiring as much as 80-km reach.

OE Solutions Co, Ltd. has introduced industrial temperature (IT) grade XFP optical transceivers for CWDM and DWDM applications requiring as much as 80-km reach.

“We are excited with this new I-temp XFP solution which enables use of CWDM/DWDM solutions for uncontrolled environment applications,” said Dr. Bongsin Kwark, director of new product development at OE Solutions. “The market demands more flexibility in field deployment. Service providers can design their system with more flexibility with industrial temperature operable transceiver solutions. This will pave the way for further penetration of CWDM/DWDM transceivers in outdoor applications and hence satisfy growing bandwidth demand.”

To meet diverse customer requirements, OE Solutions’ IT XFP modules are available for both 40-km and 80-km applications, as well as 70 km for CWDM. Wavelengths options are available also for TDM applications. The new CWDM/DWDM modules are designed to be compatible with existing technologies already deployed in the field, interworking with SDH/SONET.

The XFP family supports longer reach applications for the metro-WDM market, which requires a cost-optimized, managed platform supporting different services and suitable for applications in diversified network topologies, OE Solutions says. The CWDM XFP is aimed at systems that can support up to eight wavelengths. With DWDM XFP modules, the system can support for both C-band and L-band applications.
