FEBRUARY 6, 2008 -- Wuhan Telecommunication Devices Co., Ltd. (WTD; search for WTD) says it will exhibit its newly developed 40/80-km DWDM XFP 10Gbit/sec optical modules as well as GPON transceivers later this month at OFC/NFOEC.

The XFPs, which use DWDM-rated EML lasers and APD detectors, conform to SONET OC-192, SDH STM-64, and 10GBase-XX standards and are compatible with the 10G FC standard. Fully based on XFP MSA protocol version 4.5 and satisfying RoHS requirements, these products have a power consumption of less than 3.5 W, swappable optical and electrical interfaces, and transmission ranges of 40 and 80 km respectively, WTD says. Prototypes currently are available.

In addition, WTD will highlight its FTTx products, including GPON ONU/OLT optical transceivers that conform to RoHS and WEEE; 10G/40G optical transceivers, and XMD 10G TOSA/ROSAs.
