JANUARY 27, 2009 -- Matisse Networks (search for Matisse) says that its EtherBurst Traffic Aware Transport platform has successfully passed MEF 14 Traffic Management testing by Iometrix, Inc., the MEF's authorized testing and certification lab, and has been certified compliant.
The MEF 14 testing consists of a series of traffic management tests to verify conformance with MEF traffic profiles and service parameters, including rate shaping, policing, and prioritization.
Matisse Networks' EtherBurst Traffic Aware Transport offering combines Ethernet UNI and NNI interfaces for service aggregation with optical burst DWDM transport in one platform.
The MEF 14 certification complements the MEF 9 (Ethernet Services at the UNI) certification already obtained by Matisse Networks' EtherBurst product. The MEF certification programs ensure interoperability with other MEF-certified products and verify compatibility with standard MEF service delivery features and functionality. The MEF 9 and MEF 14 certification tests covered for all three MEF defined service types, including Ethernet Private Line (EPL), Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL), and Ethernet LAN (E-LAN) services.
