TriQuint and Huawei partner for next-gen optical transport systems
SEPTEMBER 22, 2009 -- TriQuint will work closely with Huawei to develop higher-speed and wider-bandwidth network technologies with lower power consumption for operators worldwide.
SEPTEMBER 22, 2009 -- TriQuint Semiconductor, an RF product manufacturer and foundry services provider, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Huawei, a supplier of next-generation telecom components, to supply driver amplifiers and related products for new optical transport systems. As a strategic partner, TriQuint will work closely with Huawei to develop higher-speed and wider-bandwidth network technologies with lower power consumption for operators worldwide.
According to Huawei, TriQuint was selected due to its comprehensive product portfolio and green technologies. In addition to the MOU, the product development roadmaps of both TriQuint and Huawei will be aligned to enhance the competitiveness of their products, say the companies. "We are impressed with TriQuint's high-quality products and professional technical support," says Qinya Hua, manager of transport networks, Huawei. "Huawei is always on the lookout for advanced technology that allows operators to meet network optimization challenges in reducing TCO (total cost ownership) through lower power consumption."
"TriQuint looks forward to supporting Huawei's development and deployment of next-generation 40-Gbps optical networks as well as the evolution of ultrahigh-speed 100-Gbps networks. Our optical amplifiers have set a standard for high performance, efficiency, and customer value that are in sync with Huawei's requirements for 'greener,' high-efficiency data transport systems," says Brian P. Balut, TriQuint vice president, networks.
