JUNE 29, 2009 -- FiberZone Networks Inc. (search Lightwave for FiberZone) announces the completion of Telcordia's NEBS Level 3 on its AFM-360 automated fiber management (AFM) system with MET Laboratories. FiberZone says it also concluded ETSI, VCCI, UL, FCC, CE, and other certifications, completing all key international testing on the AFM-360. The company asserts these certifications validate the carrier-class reliability, safety, and environmental suitability of its AFM platform.

The AFM-360 is designed to deliver remote control and automation to the fiber infrastructure while maintaining the attributes and reliability of a manual patch panel.

"As much as network operators crave the benefits of automation, they absolutely insist on meeting critical reliability and performance characteristics," said Joe Teixeira, VP product management, FiberZone Networks. "Working with MET Laboratories on NEBS was a great experience. MET is highly professional and efficient, and they have tremendous expertise in testing both electrical and electro-mechanical devices."

"The AFM-360 certification process was very smooth, and took less than two months," said Robert Frier, president of MET Laboratories. "We worked closely with the FiberZone team, which showed its dedication and determination to deliver a carrier-class product. FiberZone's AFM-360 completed the NEBS Level 3 tests in an exceptionally short period of time."
