OCTOBER 8, 2009 -- Maxim Integrated Products has released the DS1843 fast sample-and-hold circuit in a 2x2-mm microDFN package. The device can capture signals of less than 300 ns on its differential inputs and hold them at the output for up to 100 µs. A low input offset voltage (~5 mV) ensures accurate measurements. The DS1843 includes a differential, high-speed, switched-capacitor input sample stage; offset-nulling circuitry; and an output buffer. Through this integration, the IC saves board space compared to discrete approaches. The IC is optimized for burst-by-burst RSSI measurement in GPON optical line terminal (OLT) systems in conjunction with an external sense resistor. The chip is fully specified over the -40° to +85°C extended temperature range and is packaged in an 8-pin microDFN.Visit Maxim Integrated Products
