Dowslake receives Chinese certification, contract for Carrier Ethernet switches

JULY 20, 2009 -- Dowslake Microsystems Corp. says that its MTS Series Carrier Ethernet Switch has been successfully tested and certified for deployment by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China.

JULY 20, 2009 -- Dowslake Microsystems Corp. (search Lightwave for Dowslake) says that its MTS Series Carrier Ethernet Switch has been successfully tested and certified for deployment by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China. Dowslake adds that it has signed its first major contract with China Telecom for supplying Carrier Ethernet switches to deliver bandwidth service in the province of Sichuan.

The Dowslake MTS family of products consists of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches designed according to the latest Carrier Ethernet standards, including MEF 9 and MEF 14, IEEE 802.1ag, IEEE 802.3ah, and ITU-T Recommendation Y.1731. Dowslake previously announced MEF certification of its MTS carrier switches in late 2008.
