OIF elects 2022-2023 board of directors, other officers

“As a member-driven organization, the board and officers are critical to furthering OIF’s mission to drive innovation and interoperability in today’s market,” said OIF President Cathy Liu.

OIF has announced the results of recent elections for the organization’s board of directors and other officer positions. The elections for the Technical Committee and Market Awareness & Education Committee chairs took place during the third quarter 2022 Technical Committee Meeting in Toronto, Canada, while members voted for the board positions via email ballot. The winners began their new terms on October 1, 2022.

Newly elected or re-elected members of the board include:

  • Ian Betty, Ciena, for a two-year term
  • Jeff Hutchins, Ranovus, re-elected for a one-year term and continues as Physical & Link Layer Working Group – Co-Packaging vice chair
  • Mike Li, Intel, for a one-year term
  • Cathy Liu, Broadcom Inc., re-elected for a two-year term and continues as OIF president
  • Gary Nicholl, Cisco, re-elected to a two-year term and continues as secretary/treasurer and as Physical & Link Layer Working Group – Management co-vice chair.

These board members join the following continuing board members whose terms have not yet expired:

  • Dave Brown, Nokia, who also continues to serve as director of communications
  • Mark Filer, Google, who continues to serve on the board as vice president
  • Jeffery Maki, Juniper Networks, who also continues to serve as Physical Layer User Group Working Group chair.

Newly elected or re-elected officers include:

  • Karl Bois, Nvidia, re-elected as Technical Committee vice chair
  • Lyndon Ong, Ciena, re-elected as Market Awareness & Education Committee co-chair, networking
  • Klaus-Holger Otto, Nokia, re-elected as Technical Committee chair
  • Nathan Tracy, TE Connectivity, elected Market Awareness & Education Committee co-chair, Physical & Link Layer Working Group.
