VPIsystems to unveil photonic design automation software at OFC
March 3, 2005 Holmdel, New Jersey -- VPIsystems, a developer of support and engineering productivity software for communication networks, will introduce its VPItransmissionMaker and VPIcomponentMaker Release 6.5 at next week's OFC/NFOEC conference. The company says the combined software provides all the necessary tools to design optical components subsystems and systems.
New features of the release include the company's Dynamic Raman Amplifier, Bit-Error Rate Estimation, and PIN and Avalanche Photodiodes.
"VPI's goal is to continue to develop comprehensive design automation platforms that reduce the complexities normally associated with network planning," asserts John Holobinko, president and CEO of VPI. "This new release offers a mixture of design and numerical modeling advances that speed the construction, evaluation and visualization of elaborate simulation tasks."
VPI will demonstrate its design process at conference booth 2059. During exhibition hours, the company will run live photonic design automation presentations every half hour on topics such as optical transmitters and receivers, fiber impairments, optical regeneration, access systems, and optical network engineering.
