iTerra Communications delivers 40-Gbit/sec optical modulator driver ICs
July 19, 2002--iTerra Communications LLC has announced the availability of two additional members of its family of 40-Gbit/sec modulator driver ICs, the iTD40-5013 and iTD40-5015.
July 19, 2002--iTerra Communications LLC (www.iterracommunications.com) has announced the availability of two additional members of its family of 40-Gbit/sec modulator driver ICs, the iTD40-5013 and iTD40-5015.
The iTD40-5013 delivers a 4-Vpp amplitude level with a gain of 17 dB. The iTD40-5015, another high-gain (20 dB) driver, has the flexibility of delivering either a 4-Vpp or an 8-Vpp amplitude level at 40-Gbit/sec data rates. iTerra Communications is also delivering a lineup of "driver pre-amps" to insure that customers are provided the complete range of performance required to drive from the mux output either an electro-optical or electro-absorption modulator.
These two devices expand the portfolio of iTerra's 40Gb/s ICs, joining the previously released iTD40-5010 and iTD40-5025, which are both 9dB gain devices.
iTerra Communications will continue to release new 40-Gbit/sec products throughout this year with additional drivers. iTerra also plans to release a family of 40-Gbit/sec discrete logic devices such as XORs, AND gates, and a 40-Gbit/sec 4:1 mux.
Also planned for sampling in the 3rd quarter of 2002 from iTerra Communications are the company's first receiver products at 40 Gbits/sec, a TIA and a limiting amplifier.
