MACOM offers PAM4 quad-channel linear driver

MACOM Technology Solutions Inc. has expanded its PAM4 silicon portfolio with the MAOM-003419, a quad-channel linear electro-absorptive modulated laser (EML) driver. The device, which is sampling now, targets 28-Gbaud PAM4 designs for 200-Gbps and 400-Gbps optical transceiver applications.

MACOM Technology Solutions Inc. has expanded its PAM4 silicon portfolio with the MAOM-003419, a quad-channel linear electro-absorptive modulated laser (EML) driver. The device, which is sampling now, targets 28-Gbaud PAM4 designs for 200-Gbps and 400-Gbps optical transceiver applications.

The MAOM-003419 features high gain and bandwidth with an output voltage capability up to 2 Vpp. It consumes less than 500 mW, MACOM says. The chip features differential inputs to provide common-mode rejection and single-ended output to drive industry-standard EMLs. The MAOM-003419 comes in a small form factor surface-mount package and integrates the high-frequency bias T for the EA modulator.
