Laser module

The modulator integrated distributed-feedback laser has an electroabsorption modulator monolithically integrated with a l/4 shifted multiquantum-well dfb laser. Transmission spans of more than 600 km are available at a 2.5-Gbit/sec data rate. The compact 14-pin butterfly-type module includes a modulator integrated dfb laser, optical isolator, monitor photodiode, thermistor, and thermoelectric cooler.
