Spectran names two directors
Mansoor (Moni) Saifi has been appointed executive director of research and development at Spectran Corp., Sturbridge, MA. His 18 years` experience in fiber optics includes technical and management positions at Western Electric Co. and AT&T Network Cable Systems. Saifi was also associated with Bell Communications Research and Yazaki Corp. in Japan.
Michael Forti has been named director of sales for singlemode and multimode fiber products for communications markets. He was formerly inside sales manager for Spectran Specialty Optics Co. in Avon, CT, and was international sales and marketing manager for Ensign-Bickford, which was acquired by Spectran in 1994.
Sam Cucci has been named director of sales at Johnson City, NY-based Photonix Technologies, a manufacturer of fiber-optic equipment. He is responsible for dealing with distributors, manufacturer representatives and original equipment manufacturer accounts.
William Kittredge has been appointed vice president for manufacturing at Photonic Applications Inc., Bloomfield, CT. He has more than 25 years` experience in operations management in the telecommunications industry. Kittredge was previously associated with Dynatech Wireless Technologies. Alan Wulff has been named wireless product manager. He has more than 12 years` domestic and international business development and marketing experience in the communications industry.
James C. Castle and Alan E. Ross have been appointed directors by the Board of Directors at ADC Telecommunications Inc., Minneapolis. Geoffrey W. Goss has been named president and general manager at Montreal-based ADC Telecom Canada Inc., a subsidiary of ADC Telecommunications. Castle has held executive positions at U.S. Computer Services. He was previously associated with Teradata Corp., Infotron Systems Corp., TBG Information Systems Inc. and Thyssen Bormenisza Group. Castle held executive management positions at Memorex Corp., Honeywell Corp., General Electric Co.`s aerospace and computer groups, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Since 1993, Ross has been president of the telecommunications division at Rockwell Corp. where he previously held other executive positions. Former employers include National Semiconductor/Fairchild Semiconductor Corp., GTE-Communications Products, Fairchild Semiconductor, and Tyco Laboratories.
Goss has more than 20 years` experience in the telecommunications industry. Prior to joining ADC, he was account vice president at Nortel North America. He also held various executive positions at Northern Telecom Inc. in Canada and the United States and at Harris Corp. and Bell Canada.
James Enochs has been named vice president for sales, southeastern region, at Roanoke, VA-based Optical Cable Corp. He has held sales manager positions since he started with the company in 1988. Ted Leonard has been promoted to vice president of sales, western region, which includes the western United States, Alaska and Hawaii. He joined the company in 1992, bringing with him 12 years` experience in fiber optics. Steve Terry has been appointed inside sales manager responsible for sales activities in the continental United States, Alaska and Hawaii. He has six years` experience in the telecommunications, computer and data communications fields.
Walt Clay, president and chief executive at Hutchinson Telephone Co., Hutchinson, MN, has been appointed to the board of directors at Minnesota Equal Access Network Services Inc., Minneapolis. He is replacing recently retired Don Johnson, former general manager at Consolidated Telephone Co., Brainerd, MN.
Murl G. "Buddy" Frost and Tim Taxdahl have been named regional sales managers for the southeastern and western districts, respectively, of Porta Systems Corp., Syosset, NY. Based in Fayetteville, GA, Frost is responsible for fiber and copper product sales to the telephone and cable-TV markets. He has more than 20 years` experience in communications, most recently with Augat Communications Products and Northern Telecom Inc. Taxdahl has 15 years` experience in the cable-TV industry, most recently with Patterson Communications and Alpha Technologies Inc.
