JUNE 23, 2008 Targeting the data center market, ADC and APC have announced a strategic partnership to deliver an end-to-end fiber infrastructure offering from power distribution through physical layer connectivity.

JUNE 23, 2008 -- ADC (search for ADC) today announced that it is forming a strategic partnership with APC (search for APC), provider of integrated critical power and cooling services, that will deliver integrated offerings around fiber-optic switches and storage area network devices in the data center market. An agreement between the companies is expected to be finalized in July.

The partnership will combine ADC's expertise in physical layer connectivity and fiber cable management with APC's expertise in complete physical infrastructure management to deliver differentiated and premium offerings to data center customers, say representatives of the companies.

"The teaming of ADC and APC ultimately will allow end users, consultants, and designers to select turn-key infrastructure solutions for data center applications, regardless of the active electronics selected," explains Hutch Coburn, senior business development manager with ADC, provider of connections for wireline, wireless, cable, broadcast, and enterprise networks around the world.

"APC's broad portfolio of racks, power, cooling, software, environmental monitoring, and service capabilities will complement ADC's globally recognized network infrastructure equipment to create an end-to-end portfolio addressing the growing use of fiber in the data center," adds Rick Bansal, director of strategic alliances at APC.

A combined portfolio from both companies will be designed to supply all infrastructure needs after a customer selects their active equipment, providing an end-to-end fiber infrastructure offering from power distribution through physical layer connectivity.
