A new high-powered 980-nm pump laser diode and module incorporates a unique patent-pending "Epitaxial Mirror On Facet" technology that virtually eliminates catastrophic optical mirror damage. The 980-nm pump laser products are for use as components in EDFAs and comply with Bellcore GR-468-CORE reliability testing protocol. In addition, the "Epitaxial Mirror On Facet" process allows batch processing of the laser diodes, increasing production throughput and capacity.
