August 14, 1006 Minneapolis, MN -- ADC today announced that Windstream Supply (formerly Alltel Communications Products), a subsidiary of Windstream Communications, has placed a stocking order for ADC OmniReach products, including the newly announced OmniReach Fiber Distribution Hub (FDH) 3000. Windstream Supply is the first ADC partner to offer stocked quantities of the FDH 3000 for sales to non-affiliated customers.

The Windstream Supply order also includes OmniReach FDH 3000 'Mini Plug-and Play' Splitter Modules, Multi-Port Service Terminals (MSTs), hardened connectors, and drop cables.

"The FDH 3000 is an important industry first that reflects ADC's responsiveness to customer requirements in the FTTx marketplace," contends Joel Fye, vice president, sales and marketing at Windstream Supply. "It allows us to offer a solution that meets the unique needs of our customers as they deploy optical fiber cabling in the outside plant."

FTTx deployments require a new outside plant approach: there is more fiber to manage, a greater need for physical layer access, and the network must be configured for future expansion and upgrades, say ADC representatives. Designed for operational efficiency and scalability, the OmniReach FDH 3000 provides for rapid connection between fiber-optic cables and passive optical splitters in the outside plant that facilitates fast service connection and reconfiguration. ADC says its FDH simplifies FTTx network installation, maintenance, and management from the central office to the outside plant.

"In choosing ADC's latest FTTx solutions, Windstream Supply will be able to offer the latest technologies and provide superior service for its customers," contends Tom Kampf, vice president, FTTx product management at ADC. "By deploying our OmniReach solutions in their network infrastructures, service providers can accelerate their deployments, maximize operational efficiency, and realize Triple-Play revenues sooner," he says.
