MACOM MAXP-37161A 16-Channel, 28-Gbps Crosspoint Switch with Signal Conditioners
MACOM says its low-latency signal conditioner technology, as exemplified in the MAXP-37161, enables a smooth transition for next-generation 100 Gigabit Ethernet, EDR InfiniBand, OTN applications, and proprietary signaling by correcting for insertion loss, crosstalk, reflections due to impedance mismatches, and other channel impairments. The integration of crosspoint switch functionality enables simple implementation of redundancy switching, loop back, and data monitoring to increase system robustness and shorten time to market.
MACOM asserts the MAXP-37161 is an ideal switching device for optical OEM system designers that addresses challenging requirements in server, switching, and routing applications.
Judge's comment: "This product fills an important segment of the connectivity hierarchy with a wide bandwidth and non-blocking crosspoint switch servicing backplane application with over 32 dB without FEC. This is a new benchmark connectivity."
