Yamaichi Electronics has added a QSFP-DD pluggable module connector and cage assembly to its line of high-speed connector products. The company says it also offers customized heatsink solutions.

Yamaichi Electronics, as a member of the QSFP-DD multi-source agreement (MSA), notes that the QSFP-DD form factor is similar to the ubiquitous QSFP but has additional contact rows inside the structure design to enable double density by eight channels for electrical signal transmission. The connector will support 200G and 400G optical modules that use 28 Gbps per channel NRZ and 56 Gbps per channel PAM4 modulation. The signal integrity also takes into consideration 112-Gbps per channel PAM4 modulation, the company says.

The new single-type connector and accompanying mechanical assembly kit are currently available. were released into the market. Yamaichi Electronics says it plans to add a multiport-type connector soon as well as a stacked QSFP-DD offering later this year.
