Independent optical module vendor AddOn Networks now offer a 2x100G QSFP28-DD optical transceiver. The optical module should provide a cost-effective way for network operators to transition from 100G to 400G operations, the company says.
The QSFP28-DD 2x100G transceiver leverages a high-density CS connector and combines two 100G transceivers in one package, enabling the subtending of two common 100G NRZ signals to the network. This ability solves potential interoperability problems between legacy infrastructures and newer systems, the company says. The transceiver also is interoperable with 100G-CWDM4, 100G-LR4, and 100G-4WDM10 transceivers.
