ZTE Corp.: Preconnectorized Solution Realizes Efficient ODN Deployment

To reduce the difficulty of optical cable splicing and improve construction efficiency, ZTE has developed a preconnectorized solution that includes a series of preconnectorized boxes and prefabricated optical cables. Besides the traditional optical distribution box functions, the preconnectorized box adds preconnectorized adapters on the outside. The prefabricated optical cable is the optical cable with a connector on the end of traditional optical cable. In network deployment, optical cable connections are completed by inserting the optical cable to the preconnectorized adapter, without the need for any fusion splicing operations.

Judge’s comment: “This product would no doubt be a time saver in the field; 'blind insertion' is an outstanding product feature."
