FIBERSTAMP offers 200G optical transceiver for 40-km applications
FIBERSTAMP has launched its 200G QSFP56 ER4 optical transceiver designed for 40-km long-distance interconnection for data centers, network operators, and network equipment vendors. The new transceiver promises an alternative to more expensive coherent optical modules for significant network upgrades.
The transceiver uses a mainstream four-lane WDM optical engine architecture that integrates four-lane cooled EML ROSA, APD TOSA, and 50G PAM4 CDR based on DSP technology, and supports a maximum transmission distance of 40 km for metro data center interconnect and 5G backhaul applications. It also complies with the QSFP MSA standard and supports IEEE 802.3cn 200GBASE-ER4 Ethernet and OTN protocols.
The 200G QSFP56 ER4 optical transceiver was tested for power consumption as low as 6.4 W at normal temperature and less than 7.5 W at testing temperatures of 0, 25 and 75 degrees Celsius. The product’s OMA sensitivity of -17 dBm provides an additional advantage in long-distance transmission.
