OE Solutions unveils 100G QSFP-DD and QSFP28 DCO optical transceivers

March 17, 2022
The optical modules, which OE Solutions expects to begin making available in the third quarter of this year, will feature C-Band tunability and support unamplified and amplified network architectures.

OE Solutions now offers 100G Digital Coherent Optical (DCO) optical transceivers transceiver modules in QSFP-DD and QSFP28 form factors. The optical modules, which OE Solutions expects to begin making available in the third quarter of this year, will feature C-Band tunability and support unamplified and amplified network architectures.

The company expects the 100G DCO transceivers to find use in access network applications such as 5G network support and cable MSO Distributed Access Architectures (DAA). OE Solutions sees a need for coherent transceivers in such access networks for connecting hubs with distribution locations across large metropolitan areas as well as suburban and rural areas. The longer reach DCO transceivers afford versus alternatives based on NRZ or PAM4 signaling should prove attractive in such applications, OE Solutions states, as will the ease of network engineering and deployment such modules enable.

“We are excited to announce our first pluggable coherent modules,” said Per Hansen, vice president, marketing and sales. “OE Solutions has been a trusted supplier of transceivers to access network application both in the wireless and cable networks segments. We are happy to be able to support our customers worldwide as they embark of leveraging coherent technology for such applications as well.”
