This little-known technology is about to burst onto the scene as a low-cost competitor to glass optical fibre systems. New technologies include: graded index POF; microstructured holey polymer fibres; perfluorinated fibres; and low-cost - under USD5 - transceivers.

Running concurrent with NEPCON West, POF World 2002 will feature "renowned" speakers from the following companies: Molex, Mitsubishi, Parks Associates, Oasis, Nexans (France), Infineon (Germany), University of Alabama, Truelight (Taiwan), Schleuniger, Laboratory de Fotonica (Brazil), POFAC - University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Firecomms (Ireland), and Redfern Photonics (Australia).

POF World 2002 runs from 3-5 December 2002 at the Parkside Exhibition Hall, San Jose Convention Center, San Jose, CA, USA.
