Pulse announced a family of new multi-port T3/E3/DS3/STS1 transformer modules that reduce board space, parts count and engineering cost for a variety of central office based telecommunication applications. The product families are designed and optimized for use with new multiport T3/E3/DS3/STS-1 Line Interface Units from Mindspeed, Exar, and TDK. Applications of each product in the family include Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM), multiplexers, wide area networks (WAN), base stations and DS3-to-fiber-optic connections.

Products are fully matched and designed for new multiport line interface units from Exar, Mindspeed and TDK. The transformer modules are designed to meet all applicable requirements of T3/E3/DS3/STS-1 transmission schemes including the requirement for G.703 standards. Crosstalk is of major concern for designers of multiport line cards. Therefore, the products are designed for typical crosstalk performance of 60 dB or better.

Products feature surface mount (SMT) packages utilizing Pulse's patented InterLock base construction that ensures high reliability by minimizing manual handling during the manufacturing process.

Technical Information: Part numbers TX3051 and TX3052, the six-port transformer modules, provide 12 transformers in a surface mount (SMT) package with an extended temperature range of -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. Transformer return loss is designed to meet industry standard G.703.

Part number TX3036, the triple-port T3/E3 transformer module, provides six transformers in a surface mount (SMT) package with an extended temperature range of -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C. Transformer return loss was designed to meet industry standard G.703.

Part numbers T3048 and T3049 transformer modules, provide eight transformers in a surface mount (SMT) package matched to leading transceiver integrated circuits. Transformer return loss was designed to meet industry standard G.703.

Part numbers TX3051 and TX3052 are available in Tape & Reel packaging, with 250 units per reel. Part numbers T3048 and T3049 are available in Tape & Reel packaging, with 200 units per reel.
