Alvesta to supply Brightlink Networks with optical transceivers

May 10, 2001--Alvesta announced that BrightLink Networks has selected Alvesta as its supplier for 10Gb/s optical transceivers for Very Short Reach (VSR) optical applications.

Alvesta's Model 3100 Optical Transceiver will become a key component in BrightLink Networks' BOSS 1000 optical switch, a highly scalable product that promises to play a key role in the development of next-generation optical networks. BrightLink becomes Alvesta's second Model 3100 customer, following the March announcement of a partnership with Force10INetworks.

The Alvesta 3100 optical transceiver is a board-level interconnect solution boasting low power consumption and minimal footprint. Its full-duplex design allows implementation of 10GB/sec interconnections using a single transceiver.
