Hamamatsu unveils InGaAs ROSAs for high-speed transmission
1 APRIL 2008 -- Hamamatsu Photonics (search for Hamamatsu) introduce the new G10518 series of 10-Gbit/sec InGaAs PIN photodiode receivers mounted in industry-standard receiver optical sub-assembly (ROSA) packages.
The G10518 series feature response of up to 10.7 Gbits/sec, which makes them suitable for a variety of high speed data transmission applications such as SDH (STM-64 or SONET OC-192), 10-Gigabit Ethernet and storage area networks. Two sleeve diameters are available, 1.25 mm or 2.5 mm, making the device compatible with a range of industry-standard transceiver package designs.
The G10518 is designed to operate with low voltage supply (3.3 V) and give an exceptionally clear open "eye" response diagram. The device provides a differential output signal providing increased sensitivity and dynamic range for all 10-Gbit/sec applications.
