Fujitsu Optical Components to demo 100-Gbps coherent transceiver

Fujitsu Optical Components Ltd. (FOC) says it will offer a live demonstration of its 100-Gbps coherent transceiver next week at OFC/NFOEC in Los Angeles in booth #2317. The module is based on OIF 100GLH-EM specifications and expected to be released this April.

The demonstration will see both a low dispersion path and a very high dispersion path between the optical transmitting port and the optical receiving port of the 100-Gbps optical transceiver. Optical switching between the two paths will be performed to simulate the condition seen when routes are changed in actual transmission systems.

FOC expects the demonstration to show its optical transceiver has both the high-speed response required to handle instances when two optical routes with different dispersions are rapidly switched, and the dispersion tolerance necessary to handle long-distance transmission.

The 100G Digital Coherent Signal Processing LSI (DSP-LSI) in the module’s digital signal processor is made by NTT Electronics Corp.
