S2100 STP/fiber-optic single-chip transceiver suits 100VG-AnyLAN network applications requiring fiber or STP cabling in either the hub or end node or the high- speed port of any Ethernet switch or hub. It contains a tone decoder with preamble and start delimited detect, data clock extraction and data multiplexer, a 12-MH¥clock generator, transmit tone-control state machine, and fixed receiver-based equalization for STP. The unit costs $38 in quantities of 1000.
