Fiber-optic transceiver

SEL-2800 fiber-optic transceiver provides electrically isolated, noise-free EIA-232 communications up to 500 m. The 0.69 ¥ 1.2 ¥ 2.53-inch transceiver can withstand the harsh physical conditions that would damage equipment with copper wire. The transceiver can also be used in environments with radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference. Because power for the optical transmitter and receiver is taken from the communication signals of the host device, external power supply connections are not needed. The device plugs into the 9-pin serial port and transmits at the port`s baud rate (to 40 kilobaud).
