LCI International Inc., McLean, VA, has awarded Northern Telecom a three-year, $60-million agreement to supply advanced switching and optical transmission systems. Northern Telecom plans to supply DMS-250 SuperNode tandem switching systems, 2.5-Gbit/sec S/DMS TransportNode OC-48, 10-Gbit/sec OC-192 Synchronous Optical Network fiber-transport systems, and its optical amplifiers to meet expanded network capacity and functionality.
