June 19, 2006 Santa Clara, CA -- Fiberxon has announced the availability of a new line of G.984.2-compliant optical transceivers. The GPON Class B+ family "can recover every bit" from the first bit of the incoming optical signal running in burst mode, according to the company. The devices offer 28-dB loss budget and 20-dB dynamic range without a power-leveling scheme.
The transceivers are compatible with both reset and reset-less GPON system design with digital diagnostic monitoring interface on both ends. These features will help system vendors improve system performance and give them more flexibility during system design, Fiberxon asserts. Key customers have received small volume shipments for several months.
The product line is based on small-form-factor (SFF) and small-form-pluggable (SFP) multi-source agreements (MSAs) for compact packaging. On the ONT side, the family includes both diplexer and triplexer versions supporting Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) functionality over industrial temperature ranges.
The transceivers have been tested according to related product safety and electromagnetic compatibility regulations of U.S and European Community. They are RoHS compliant as well.
