OE Solutions has unveiled a line of 25G SFP28 optical transceivers at ECOC in Gothenburg, Sweden. The optical module line launches with a pair of multi-rate optical modules for data center and 5G wireless applications.

The two 25G transceivers, now in the sampling stage, include:

  1. a 1310-nm standard-temperature SFP28 optical transceiver for distances up to 10 km; applications include 25 Gigabit Ethernet, 8G Fibre Channel, 16G Fibre Channel, and 32G Fibre Channel
  2. a 1310-nm industrial-temperature SFP28 transceiver for 25 Gigabit Ethernet and CPRI-10 applications with reaches up to 10 km.

"The ever-growing consumption of entertainment and information continues to drive development of new cost-efficient information technologies," said Per B. Hansen, vice president of marketing and sales of OE Solutions America. "With these new 25G transceiver products, we are addressing urgent needs in the access network, which is often characterized by deployments in uncontrolled environments, as well as the need for multi-rate Ethernet/Fibre Channel transceivers for enterprise and data storage networks."

OE Solutions expects the new optical modules will be generally available in the fourth quarter of this year. The company will highlight the optical transceivers in Stand 289 at ECOC.
