The fiber-optic business section of Siemens Microelectronics Inc. (Cupertino, CA) signed a licensing agreement with 3M (St. Paul, MN) to manufacture and sell VF-45-style fiber-optic interconnects. Under terms of the agreement, Siemens will add the VF-45 connector line to its line of transceiver products. The agreement will also give Siemens access to 3M`s VF-45 connector products, including 50-micron, 62.5-micron, and forthcoming singlemode connectors.
