Modular backplane transceiver

The HyperPHY is a modular backplane transceiver that allows 32 independent high-speed channel interfaces with custom logic in a single CMOS ASIC. The core`s modular function allows multiple data-transfer channels operating at 622 to 830 Mbits/sec or any sub-multiple speed. The core is comprised of five independent building blocks: a frequency synthesizer that generates clocks in the frequency ranges of 622 to 830 MHz, 311 to 415 MHz, and 155 to 208 MHz; a clock recovery receiver that recovers data at up to 830 Mbits/sec; a receive deserializer; a transmit serializer; and a bias current generator.
