Mellanox rolls out 200 Gigabit Ethernet, InfiniBand HDR LinkX transceivers and cables

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX) says it has begun shipping 200-Gbps optical transceivers, active optical cables (AOCs), and direct attach copper cables (DACs) for 200 Gigabit Ethernet (200GbE) and InfiniBand HDR applications. The company expects the products to find use for switch, server, and storage network connectivity.

Mellanox Technologies, Ltd. (NASDAQ: MLNX) says it has begun shipping 200-Gbps optical transceivers, active optical cables (AOCs), and direct attach copper cables (DACs) for 200 Gigabit Ethernet (200GbE) and InfiniBand HDR applications. The company expects the products to find use for switch, server, and storage network connectivity.

The 200G LinkX line includes:

  • 200G SR4/HDR optical transceiver:This 4x50G PAM4 QSFP56 optical transceiver will form the basis for transceivers and AOCs for Mellanox’s upcoming 200G systems.
  • 200GbE and HDR DACs and AOCs: The cables are available in straight and y-splitter 100GbE and HDR100 form-factors.

The company says it also has begun shipping 400G 8x50G PAM4 DACs in the QSFP-DD form-factor. At ECOC in Rome September 24-26, 2018, Mellanox will host a live demonstration with Keysight/Ixia showing the 400-Gbps QSFP-DD DAC as well as 200-Gbps SR4 optical transceivers. The company also will display a 400G SR8 optical transceiver in Stand 432.
