Padtec offers TM800G 800-Gbps, TM1200G 1.2-Tbps optical transponders

Padtec says the TM800G and the TM1200G can be applied to short, medium, and long-haul links, including those that require alien wavelength support.

Brazilian optical transport technology developer Padtec has unveiled a pair of high-speed optical transponders/muxponders. The TM800G supports 800-Gbps applications while the TM1200G addresses 1.2-Tbps requirements. The transponders pair with Padtec’s LightPad i6400G platform.

Padtec says the TM800G and the TM1200G can be applied to short, medium, and long-haul links, including those that require alien wavelength support. They will accommodate line rates of 100 Gbps to 600 Gbps. Measuring 1RU high and 300 mm deep, the transponders enable rack mounting in both data center and telecom facilities.

“The development of this product is in line with the company’s commitment to constantly invest in the evolution of its product line, providing the market with innovative solutions and state-of-the-art technology in optical systems,” says Manuel Andrade, Padtec North America’s CEO.

“Another of the technical innovations of this generation of transponders is the more flexible network interfaces that allow better adaptation of optical channels to meet the increasing demands for network performance and expansion,” Manuel added.

Padtec’s LightPad i6400G platform family can be used in a variety of optical network settings, including submarine cable systems (see “Padtec to deploy submarine cable network for Google”).
