In a deal potentially worth $100 million, Alcatel Telecom, Richardson, TX, will install Synchronous Optical Network (Sonet) equipment for WorldCom Inc. over the next two years. Alcatel has begun shipments of its Sonet multiplexers for installation in WorldCom ring networks in Canada and the United States.
