Optical-amplifier component

A 980-nm laser chip is now available for use in manufacturing 980-nm pump modules, which are used in optical-fiber amplifiers. The chips are rigorously tested, with more than 400 devices tested under various accelerated aging and stress conditions. With more than 3.5 million device hours accumulated on the devices, the lasers exceed Bellcore recommendations.
