Pump-laser module

Model 1911A high-power 980-nm pump-laser module suits erbium-doped fiber amplifier systems operating at 1550-nm wavelengths. The laser uses a proprietary strained multiquantum-well nonabsorbing window structure and is necessary for inline optical repeaters, power-booster amplifiers, and optical preamplifiers. The device has an output of 60 to 110 mW and a typical side-mode suppression ratio of 25 dB. This narrow-linewidth unit has been qualified at up to 200-mW facet power levels.
