13 December 2002 -- Silicon MEMS product and service supplier Colibrys SA - founded in January 2001 in Neuchatel, Switzerland - has registered a North American subsidiary Colibrys Inc in Cary, North Carolina, USA and appointed James A Aberson as business development manager for North America.

"Colibrys has consistently continued to see year-on-year growth in its MEMS business over the past 5 years, this whilst many of our competitors have collapsed or seen significant reduction in revenue during this past year," said Aberson.

"A significant proportion of our new customers is based in North America and we intend to exploit the broader need in the North American marketplace for a professional supplier of silicon MEMS," he adds. "This step is but the first of many in the coming year towards establishing a strong design, applications and sales network."
