Optical amplifiers

This line of edfa optical amplifiers for telecommunications and cable-TV applications includes high- and low-power transmit amplifiers, high-gain line amplifiers, and pre-amplifiers. Transmit amplifiers with 10- to 21- dBm output powers, and pre-amplifiers capable of working as low as -40 dBm, are available. The optical amplifiers are suited for dwdm networks, and according to the manufacturer, offer gain flatness, low noise, and high gain levels, which allow service providers to extend regenerator spacing and lower network cost while increasing reliability.
