Optical time-domain reflectometer

The Model ofm130 picosecond otdr analyzes fiber amplifiers, including

erbium-doped fiber amplifiers. The unit is available as a single- or dual-wavelength instrument at 1300 and 1550 nm. The otdr features short-haul, high-spatial resolution and zero deadzone. It measures fusion- splice loss between like fibers and unlikefibers and can "look" through isolators, couplers, and wavelength-division multiplexers and measure isolation loss, splitting ratio, crosstalk, and return loss. Single- and dual-wavelength models cost $69,000 and $89,000, respectively.
