ITF Optical Technologies launches its All-Fiber 980nm polarization pump combiner

Aug. 29, 2001--This new product is specifically designed to increase the optical amplification power of 980nm Erbium doped fiber amplifiers.

ITF Optical Technologies, a worldwide supplier of photonic components for next-generation optical networks, announced its ultra-low loss All-Fiber 980nm Polarization Pump Combiner.

This new product is specifically designed to increase the optical amplification power of 980nm Erbium doped fiber amplifiers (EDFA) by combining two polarized pump laser sources into a single fiber. The 980nm Polarization Pump Combiner complements the 14xx/1480 nm Polarization Pump Combiner that was introduced earlier this year.

ITF's All-Fiber Polarization Pump Combiners are polarization maintained passive optical components with insertion losses of less than 0.2dB per port. They can be custom-designed to accommodate any pump center wavelength for EDFA and Raman applications. ITF's robust athermal packaging ensures stable performance over an operating temperature range form -5°C to +70°C. Products are currently being sampled and ITF is ready to accept orders for volume production.
