The polarization insensitive fiber-optic circulator is a passive device that transmits an incoming signal from port 1 to port 2, and a separate incoming signal from port 2 to port 3. Insertion loss is 1.2 dB typical. Isolation is greater than 35 dB, and crosstalk is less than -45 dB. The circulators suit optical amplifiers, OTDRs, wavelength-division multiplexer networks and cable-TV fiber-optic links.
