The OI LB series of fiber amplifiers is designed for operation from 1570 to 1605 nm. High-saturation output powers are available up to 27 dBm for the standard products. Amplifier design and pump wavelength combinations have a flat spectral gain (1.5-dB typical variation) and low noise figure (6-dB typical). These amplifiers can be combined with C-band amplifiers to provide flat gain from 1545 to 1605 nm with output powers up to 25 dBm. The microprocessor bench-top version manages alarm and status indicators and maintains constant output power or constant gain. A GPIB/RS232 option is also available for diagnostics and control, and OEM versions are available.
