DYNAMIC SPECTRUM EQUALIZER

June 1, 2000

The PurePath Dynamic Spectral Equalizer corrects spectral nonuniformities in optical communication networks. The liquid-crystal-based device can individually attenuate 40 channels at 100-GHz spacing and is extendable to 80 channels at 50 GHz. Used in conjunction with an optical amplifier, it provides dynamic gain equalization on a per-channel basis.
